SIDN, the registry operator for the .nl domain, has announced that the .nl registry will migrate to a new platform called Hello Registry on 1 September 2026.

This migration will largely be handled on our side. Our team is already preparing the necessary platform updates to ensure that .nl domain operations continue to function smoothly.

SIDN is introducing several preparation milestones ahead of the launch, which may be relevant if you operate custom integrations or automated workflows.

Key preparation phases

SIDN has defined two important preparation phases before the production launch:

1 February 2026 - Technical Preview

Registrars receive early access to the Hello Registry environment. This allows technical teams to explore the platform and start preliminary integration checks.

1 April 2026 - Operational Test & Evaluation (OT&E)

During this phase, registrars can perform full workflow testing in a dedicated test environment.

This is the moment to validate API integrations, automation flows, and operational processes before the September go-live.

What this means for Realtime Register partners

For most partners, no immediate action is required. We are preparing the platform to ensure a smooth transition to Hello Registry.

If you maintain direct integrations or custom workflows related to .nl domains, we recommend reviewing them during the Technical Preview and OT&E phases.

What you should do now

To prepare for the migration:

  • Review any custom .nl integrations or workflows you operate
  • Participate in the Technical Preview or OT&E phases if relevant
  • Keep an eye on our channels to stay up to date about the migration timeline

Early preparation helps avoid last-minute changes closer to the September launch.
