We want to inform you about important changes regarding the registration process for .NU and .SE domains. These updates are effective from the 1st of February and are required to comply with the registry’s policies.
What’s Changing?
- Mandatory ID Information
From February 1st, all new registrations for .NU and .SE domains must include registrant ID information that can be (pre)validated by the registry:
- Individuals: a passport number is required for the registrant.
- Companies/organisations: a KVK (Chamber of Commerce) number and/or VAT number is required for the registrant.
These ID details must be present and valid so the registration can be successfully (pre)validated at the registry. - Terms of Service (TOS) Acceptance
Registrations will only be processed if the registrant accepts the official Terms of Service for .NU and .SE.
If the TOS is not accepted, the domain name will not be registered. - Change of Registrant
For any change of registrant, the current registrant must approve the change before it can be completed.
The new registrant's ID information (passport for individuals, KVK/VAT for companies) must also be (pre)validated.
Action Required
Please update your systems and processes to ensure that all required registrant data is collected and submitted in a way that allows it to be (pre)validated by the .NU and .SE registry. Registrations or changes that cannot be successfully (pre)validated against these requirements will be rejected by the registry.
For more details, please refer to the official registry documentation or contact our support team.
Thank you for your cooperation in ensuring a smooth transition to these updated policies.
