DigiCert has announced a pricing adjustment for its Public Trust (CertCentral) products. The updated SSL prices will be visible in your Realtime Register portal.
We are sharing this update early to ensure you have full visibility and sufficient time to plan accordingly.
What is changing?
Effective 7 April 2026, DigiCert will increase prices for Public Trust products within DigiCert® CertCentral.
- On average, prices will rise by approximately 15%
- The exact adjustment varies by product and currency
- Pricing remains based on a minimum one-year order term, covering all required certificate issuance during that period, regardless of changes to certificate lifetimes
Why is DigiCert adjusting prices?
According to DigiCert, the digital trust landscape continues to evolve rapidly, particularly due to the industry-wide shift towards shorter certificate lifetimes. This results in more frequent certificate issuance and validation cycles.
To maintain performance, availability and security at scale, DigiCert states that continued investment is required in infrastructure and automation.
In their announcement, DigiCert highlights investments including:
- Scaling WebPKI infrastructure to support significantly higher issuance and validation volumes
- Built-in automation via TLS subscriptions (including ACME support) to prevent outages and reduce manual work
- Automated domain control validation at scale (PKI and DNS workflows)
- Improved OV and EV validation tracking to reduce delays and stalled orders
- Continued investment in operations, compliance and security standards
