From October 20 to 23, Realtime Register’s Martijn Kamphuis (Director of Vendor Relations & Strategic Alliances) and Calvin Korenhof (Business Development Manager) attended the Acronis TRU Summit and MSP Global in Barcelona. The four-day trip offered an inspiring mix of partner meetings, trend sessions, and insights into the future of cloud solutions, backup, and cybersecurity solutions.

A warm welcome from Acronis

The visit kicked off on Monday, October 20, with an Acronis-organized dinner followed by a lively beach party.

“It was a great way to start the week,” says Martijn. “We met many Acronis customers, fellow distributors, and long-time industry contacts. The energy and sense of community around Acronis were immediately clear.”

Acronis roadmap 2026: productivity and efficiency take the lead

Tuesday, October 21, was dedicated to the Acronis TRU Summit: a full day packed with in-depth sessions about current market developments, emerging trends, and the Acronis roadmap for 2026.

For us, several announcements stood out:

  • Productivity and efficiency will be central to every new development.

  • Improvements are ongoing in customer onboarding, partner-level management, user roles, performance, UX, and workflow automation.

  • The automated billing functionality will be expanded: a powerful feature for resellers who want to easily invoice end customers based on actual usage and instantly view their margins.

  • The Ultimate Protection for Microsoft 365 will evolve into a multi-layered solution, offering enhanced performance, extended protection, and stronger security posture.

  • Finally, Acronis announced extended agentless backup capabilities of VMs for Kubernetes containers, further expanding its protection scope.

“The roadmap clearly shows that Acronis is investing heavily in partner enablement,” Martijn explains. “Everything revolves around efficiency, security, and usability; the very areas where our resellers gain the most value.”

Connecting with customers and vendors at MSP Global

On Wednesday, October 22, and Thursday, October 23, Martijn and Calvin met with a wide range of customers during MSP Global.

“It’s always valuable to have face-to-face conversations with our customers,” Martijn says. “We discussed how they experience our services, where they see opportunities or challenges, and how we can help them stay competitive. With our expanding vendor portfolio, we can support hosting providers and digital agencies on more fronts than ever.”

In addition to customer meetings, they also connected with several key vendors already part of the Realtime Register ecosystem - including Acronis, Monarx, Atarim, WebPros, and the recently added Blackwall.

“We discussed how to deepen our partnerships and tailor their solutions even better for hosting providers and digital agencies. These conversations were inspiring, and we look forward to turning those ideas into action in 2026.”

Exploring future partnerships

Beyond existing relationships, our team also met with new potential vendors that could become part of our company’s portfolio in the future.

“We’re always looking for solutions that make sense for our audience,” Martijn notes. “Sometimes a vendor’s current business model or the size of our reseller makes the vendor less accessible to SMB hosting providers and digital agencies, but that’s exactly where we can bridge the gap, by creating a model or proposition that works for both, the reseller and the vendor.”

A successful and insightful week

Both events offered a wealth of insights, inspiration, and opportunities for collaboration.

“For us, the Acronis TRU Summit and MSP Global were a great success,” concludes Martijn. “We return with new ideas, stronger partnerships, and a clear view of where the industry is heading. We’re already looking forward to next year.”
