How to use Realtime Register with Hostfact

HostFact is deployed with Realtime Register integration. In the HostFact settings you can setup your Realtime Register account details, to be able to connect to your account for realtime domain name registrations.

  • Supported versions Hostfact 4.X & 5.X compatible
  • Handle Management Improved usability of new ICANN requirements for WHOIS accuracy. Automatic handle synchronization after update registrant details. Improved telephone format handling.
  • Domain renewal Manage auto renew settings. Special handling for registries that do not offer explicit renewals.
  • Integrates with everything Domain locking/unlocking. Update contact information. Change/modify name server. Support for AuthInfo Code (Domain Authorization Code). ID Protect by default.
  • Setup and testing Straightforward and clear error messages. Extensive information on error in debug mode (use only for active debugging). Debug mail: debug messages are sent to specified email address. Testing mode: requires Realtime Register OT&E account. TLS/SSL for API.
  • Hostfact based synchronization Optional synchronization of expiration date. Optional synchronization of due date and next invoice date, based on expire date +/- specific number of days. Emails to admin contacts about synchronization updates (status, dates).
  • Premium domains Support for premium domain names is integrated and premium prices are dynamically returned after doing a premium domain name lookup. To prevent selling premium domains at regular fees, there is a billable acknowledgment needed to ensure the transaction.

Add-ons

The Realtime Register module comes with add-ons to make it easier to start using Hostfact. When migrating domain names from another registrar, the same add-ons are useable. Realtime Register offers the following add-ons; Import domains and auto-renew status.

Import Domains

Import domains from your Realtime Register account into Hostfact. Domain attributes like expiry date and status will be copied automatically. The importer will match up domain registrant data with existing clients, or create new clients if no match is found.

Auto-renew status

By default, Hostfact handles off all the renewals of domain names by doing a renew manually at a registrar. If you are switching over from another billing/automation software or starting to use Hostfact, it may be convenient that you can change the status at Realtime Register from auto-renew TRUE to auto-renew false with a click on the button.

Yes. To make migration easier, the module includes an "Import Domains" add-on. This tool allows you to pull domains from your Realtime Register account directly into HostFact. It automatically synchronizes expiry dates and domain statuses, and it intelligently matches domain registrant data with your existing HostFact clients (or creates new ones if a match isn't found).
How does HostFact manage domain renewals and synchronization?

The integration offers flexible synchronization options. You can choose to automatically sync expiration dates, due dates, and next invoice dates. For registries that do not offer explicit renewals, the module has special handling logic to ensure services aren't interrupted. You can also manage auto-renew settings (True/False) at the registrar level with a single click within the HostFact interface.
Does the HostFact module support Premium Domains?

Yes. Support for Premium Domains is fully integrated. When a customer performs a domain lookup, HostFact dynamically returns premium pricing. To prevent selling high-value premium domains at standard rates by mistake, the system requires a billable acknowledgment before the transaction is finalized, protecting your profit margins.
