Manage domains more efficiently in WHMCS with new DNS and DTS updates

If you use the Realtime Register WHMCS domains module, the latest updates focus on one thing: making daily domain operations simpler and more predictable.

The main additions are DNS support, DTS integration, and several usability improvements. Together, they help your team manage domains more efficiently, directly from WHMCS.

What changed in the WHMCS domain module
DTS integration for smoother migrations

One of the most important updates is DTS integration.

This introduces a hook that sends domains into Realtime Register’s Domain Transfer Service (DTS) after a customer pays the renewal invoice.

We understand that moving large domain portfolios between registrars is often a significant effort. With this integration, transfers can be triggered at a natural moment in your billing cycle: when a domain is renewed. This helps you gradually migrate domains in a more controlled and predictable way, instead of handling everything at once.

At the same time, it’s important to note that sending a domain into DTS does not guarantee that the transfer will be completed. The actual transfer still depends on registry rules, domain status, and external factors.

There is one requirement: DTS must be activated and configured in your Realtime Register account before you enable it in WHMCS.

DNS support in the module

The module now includes DNS support.

This means support for both Basic and Premium DNS, allowing you to manage DNS directly from WHMCS.

In practice, this reduces the need to switch between systems. You can handle domain registration, management, and DNS from one place, using the same workflows your team already knows. For many resellers, this makes it easier to offer DNS as part of their standard domain service, without adding operational complexity.

Other improvements to support your daily work in WHMCS

Beyond DTS and DNS, the WHMCS domain module has become easier to use in day-to-day operations.

Key improvements include:

  • Support for vanity nameservers

  • DNS-related fixes and enhancements

  • A widget that highlights suspended domains, helping admins quickly see what needs attention

  • A more flexible order flow, where certain required fields can be completed later by an admin instead of during checkout

Together, these updates reduce friction in your workflows and make the module easier to manage for teams working with larger domain portfolios.

There is a better way to manage domains.
