Last weekend, Berend van Dalfzen, Martin Spreer and Martijn Kamphuis were representing Realtime Register at the incredible Hosts Del Mar Ibiza event. And although the weather definitely did not cooperate, the atmosphere, the people, and the overall experience more than made up for it.
From reconnecting with long-time industry friends to meeting many new faces, it turned into a weekend full of great conversations, new opportunities, and unforgettable moments. It’s funny to see how in this Ibiza atmosphere, you talk more about other topics than work.
On Friday afternoon, we landed at the airport on Ibiza and after a short taxi ride to the other side of the island, we arrived at the hotel. We received a warm welcome, quickly dropped our bags in the room, and headed straight to the terrace by the pool overlooking the sea.
Despite the clouds, there was still a small glimpse of sunshine, enough to enjoy the relaxed Ibiza atmosphere while catching up with friends and peers from the hosting industry. Slowly but surely, more familiar faces arrived, and the event truly came to life.
Later that evening, the entire group moved to a beautiful restaurant where we enjoyed food, drinks, and great conversations.
One of the absolute highlights of Friday night was the performance by the industry band Lords of Uptime, including a guest appearance by Gilby Clarke, former Guns N' Roses guitarist. What an incredible show!
As Realtime Register, we are proud to sponsor this unique and talented industry band. Seeing so many industry professionals come together around music, friendship, and fun is something truly special.
Saturday morning quickly made one thing clear: the weather forecasts were right. Heavy rain on Ibiza during May is highly unusual, especially to the point where harbors were temporarily closed. So, the boat trip later that day was cancelled unfortunately.
But even the rain could not stop the positive energy of the event.
During the day, we had two very promising meetings that resulted in handshakes on new partnerships and expanded collaborations. We are extremely excited about what’s ahead and look forward to sharing more details soon.
In the afternoon, we enjoyed a fantastic lunch hosted by Blackwall, followed by more conversations, networking, and great music.
Around 6 PM, the skies finally cleared and the sun returned. Everyone immediately headed back outside to enjoy the Ibiza atmosphere. Smaller groups spread across San Antonio to different restaurants, bars, and terraces, making the most of the evening and what Ibiza is known for.
By Sunday morning, it was already time to head back home, especially because it was Mother’s Day.
Tired but incredibly satisfied, we left Ibiza looking back on a fantastic weekend filled with friendship, business opportunities, music, and memorable moments.
A huge thank you to the organizers and especially to the main sponsors:
Atarim, Monarx, Patchstack and StorPool.
You made this event truly unforgettable. We are already looking forward to the next edition!
